This is my second time hiking up to the Hollywood Sign!
Anyone who’s been here knows that parking around the sign is incredibly difficult. Most of the streets on the hill are reserved for residents only.
But this time, I found a great parking spot, it’s a bit of a longer walk, but you can not only reach the front of the Hollywood Sign, you can also hike all the way up behind it. Honestly, it’s the perfect route! So I’m sharing it here for everyone.

You can park around:📍 3231 Canyon Lake Dr, Los Angeles, CA 90068
Then start your hike from:📍 6301 Innsdale Dr, Los Angeles, CA 90068
It takes some walking, but compared to other routes, this one is actually one of the easier ways to reach the top of the Hollywood Sign.
Here’s the entrance I photographed on the way back —the scenery along the route is absolutely stunning!
It takes about 1.5 hours at a steady pace, and you’ll even get views of Downtown LA (DTLA).
Along the way, you’ll see several signs marking the path. After a long stretch of dusty trail, you’ll come to a place that looks like a parking lot with a fence blocking off the car area, you can just step over there and keep heading up.
Next, you’ll see a white gate — don’t worry! There’s a pedestrian path on the left side you can walk through.
After that, just keep following the path to the right and climb up!If you’re unsure, just follow other hikers, the route to the summit is quite clear.
We happened to arrive right at sunset, and it was breathtakingly beautiful.
Thankfully, the weather was perfect and the sun hadn’t set yet. ☀️

Hope everyone reading this guide has a successful Hollywood summit too!
